New Year Classes
Class times for the new year are now up. They're the same as last term, which is nice, though we're not quite sure what's happening on Sundays as the Fusion people haven't got back to us yet. Check the timetable for the lowdown.
New Year, New You
Made a resolution to get fit and toned this year? Pole Exercise could be the answer: it's a great way to work out and have fun at the same time. Don't worry if you've never jumped on a pole before - we have new people starting all of the time so you'll be in good company. Please have a look at the FAQ for more info, or email info@yupe.co.uk and we'll get back to you as soon as we can.
Christmas Social - Wed 10 Dec
Hello all,
Just a quick message about our pole Christmas social! It will be held this Wednesday 10th December, as lots of members may be going home early next week. We will meet @ 7pm outside Fenwick's ready to go ice-skating @ Clifford's Tower @ 7.30pm so remember your gloves! After an hour on the ice, we'll head over to Oscar's @ 9pm for mulled wine, drinks and nibbles or food (depending on how hungry everybody is)! No doubt there will then be a group going on to Ziggy's and a group opting to stay in town - so completely open to what you fancy!
Fancy dress is optional, but as it's a Christmas social hopefully there will be at least some tinsel on display, Lila and I'll be dressed suitably festive!!
Please let us know during pole classes tomorrow whether you want to come ice-skating, so that we can book tickets (£7.50-8.95 each), or email info@yupe.co.uk If you don't fancy ice-skating please come along and watch or join us in Oscar's later on!
See you tomorrow,
Hannah and Lila

Non-students: "Yes we can!"
We've finally got some news about non-students joining us this year and, in the words of Barack Obama (or possibly Bob the Builder): "Yes we can!"
We weren't sure whether non-students would be allowed to join York Sport this year, which is unfortunately necessary for insurance reasons. But we have now been told that you can, and for the same £40 that students pay. (This doesn't give you access to the Sports Centre facilities though. If you want that too, a more expensive £55 option is also available.)
Just come and see us in class to join. Like everyone else, you are of course welcome to come along for a taster session before joining York Sport.
There's a little bit more information on this in the FAQ, or email us at info@yupe.co.uk for the lowdown.
First Pole Social! - Wed 12 Nov
Next Wednesday is our first Pole Social which will be joint with the Mixed Martial Arts club and the theme is Army wear! So don anything you have that is brown or green and we'll provide the face paint!
We'll be meeting in Derwent bar at 8pm before heading into town and ending up in club Salvation. You can buy your tickets for club salvation at Derwent bar, they're £3 and this is queue jumper (if you do 50p goes back to Pole exercise). Salvation are giving priority to sports clubs so I'm hoping to get us some free alcohol once we're inside!
Lila and Hannah (Social Secs)
Update: We've just been told that Salvation won't be running sports student nights for the rest of the term, so we'll be heading off to Yate's bar to play on the poles before ending up in Ziggy's. Hope to see you there!
