Hi guys,
Just to remind you all that we are doing another merchandise order for this term so now's your chance to get kitted up in pole exercise gear!

We sell tank tops, shorts, t-shirts, pole shoes and hoodies in a variety of colours with the pole exercise logo on the back. To see more details ask to see the merchandise folder in class on Sunday.

In order to make sure everything arrives in time for the end of term we need orders and payment on Sunday 23rd May (we take cheques or cash).

Have a great week and see you Sunday

Joggers
and Pole shoes Very Happy

If you want to check details, prices or see photos, the merchandise book will be at all classes from Sunday. We will be aiming to get the order sorted by Sunday 15th Nov (week 5) to make sure it arrives in time for christmas.

If you can't make any of the next few classes and want to check out what we sell/colours drop me an email at chilli_d@msn.com and I'll send you some details/pictures (pictures of the shoes available are on the website on the merchandise page).

See you at class

Welcome (and welcome back) to Pole Exercise!

16 Oct 2009 – 7:37

Hey everyone, hope you've all had a great summer!

We've had a busy start this term, with a performance at fresher's ball already under our belts!

Due to some issues with the university about room bookings, timings in the first couple of weeks (weeks 2 and 3, or those beginning the 19th and 26th of Oct) will be slightly different. There will be no Tuesday classes, and some timings have been moved forward, as below:

Week 2:
Thurs 22nd, Classes at 3.30pm and 4.30pm
Sun 25th, Classes at 4.30pm, 5.30pm and 6.30pm
Week 3:
Sun 1st Nov, Classes at 4.30pm, 5.30pm, and 6.30pm

We've added an extra class on Sundays to try and accommodate more of you, but we still expect these first few sessions to be very busy. We are therefore, for the first couple of weeks, signing people up to classes. This will take place at fresher's fair (Saturday 17th October), so come see us at our stand in the sports tents! We will have our pole up and be demonstrating, so if you're new to pole it's a great chance to see pole exercise in action!

We understand that some of you are non-students, and so won't be at freshers fair, so we are offering you the chance to sign up now. If you can send a request for a place to Jessi at info@yupe.co.uk before then, she will sign you up to the class. You need to specify which day and time you want to be put in for, and this is only for people certain they want to attend that class.

We will be running a club social on Wednesday 21st (week 2), a bar crawl starting on campus and ending, as ever, with all the other sports clubs in Ziggy's! The theme is Angels and Demons, and more details will be available on our facebook group later, just look for the event Smile

So hopefully we'll see lots of you at fresher's fair, at sessions in the next couple of weeks, and at our social on Wednesday. As ever, drop us an email at info@yupe.co.uk if you have any questions!

Summer term - welcome back!

04 May 2009 – 8:08

Hello Everyone.

It's the Summer Term and it's time to burn off all those Easter Eggs we consumed over Easter, and get our bikini bodies back!

Due to the current pole situation we are still limited to 8 people per class, this may (hopefully become 12 soon). We have a new sign up system for classes. Just click here for this week's classes and here for next week's.

Classes are staying at £3, and you are welcome to come along and do just floor work for a reduced £2. We also have loyalty cards which you can pick up in class, every 6th class is free so long as your card has been stamped by a member of the committee.

Classes are starting back this upcoming tuesday week 2 (5th May). For a full up-to-date timetable please check the classes page.

Although we haven't been brilliant at enforcing membership last term we need to be stricter this term. You can attend your first class without having membership to our club, but the following class you attend you will need to pay £5 membership. On top of this it is necessary that you have York Sport membership as insurance when using our poles, it is your own responsibility to secure this, but it is within your best interests to do so. For University members this means visiting www.yusu.org/sport and for non-student members you will be able to pay the money directly to us at a class.

We will be holding elections this term (Tuesday Week 3 at 8.30 in Goodricke Dining Hall) for the new committee to take over next year. Being on the commitee for Pole Exercise is great fun and is always something good to put on your CV. If you want to know anymore about any of the positions then please just ask. Postions are;

- President
- Treasurer
- Secretary
- Press and Publicitiy
- Merchandise Rep
- Social Secretary (more than 1 person possible)
- Webmaster
- Ordinary Members

If you would like to stand for a position but are unable to attend the elections then please let one of us know prior to the event.

Please remember not to moisturise before classes, to turn up AT LEAST 5 minutes before the start of a class and to remove all jewellery before the class begins.

Hope to see you all soon at class!!

Amy & Zoe
Club President and Secretary
